Beechland Baptist Church is a fellowship of believers with a heart for missions. It is our desire to share the Good News of Jesus Christ on a local, regional and international level. Beechland’s challenge to members has been to think Outside the Walls and impact people who don’t already come to church in advancement of our shared goal of sharing the gospel through all nations.

In Sunday School on Mission, each small group at Beechland sponsors a unique mission project which is near and dear to their hearts.

Our church has established a relationship with Compassion International, which endeavors to “release children from poverty in Jesus’ name.” Many of our members currently have one-to-one sponsorships of children living in various parts of the world. Should you desire to be a part of our Compassion project, you may follow this link to Compassion International where you, too, can help release a child from poverty in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord.

In Fall 2013, 12 missionaries from our church went to minister to the Dominican Republic through a partnership with G.O. Ministries. This was the seventh time Beechland has sent missionaries to provide direct physical and financial support to needy families. While in the D.R., the missionaries fed needy children, helped expand a growing Christian church, spread the word of God to people who have never had the opportunity to hear it, ministered to children sponsored through the Compassion program, and visited a local trash dump to encourage the locals forced to live there. Beechland also raised funds to purchase computer equipment for ministers living in the Dominican Republic. Please continue to pray for our missionaries who make regular trips to the D.R.

Our Benevolence Committee helps needy families in the 40258 and 40272 ZIP codes with utility assistance to keep their power and water on. We have a community food pantry whose mission is to provide food to any hungry person, regardless of their circumstances. Through our partnership with Kentucky Harvest and JCPS, Beechland was able to distribute over 7,200 pounds of food families in our community this Spring with the fall session beginning Aug 24. The Bereavement Team supports those families grieving through the loss of a loved one.

Beechland is a member of the Long Run Baptist Association which supports ministry projects such as University of Louisville’s Baptist Campus Ministry, theJefferson Street Baptist Center, Friendship International, Churchill Downs Backside Ministry, and Disaster Relief missions among others. Our support of the Southern Baptist Convention furthers the mission of combining and directing the energies of Baptists to present the Gospel of Christ to every person in the world and to make disciples of all nations. As a member of the Kentucky Baptist Convention, Beechland gives money to support church planting in the US and abroad, community ministries in rural Kentucky, and mission projects from Appalachia all the way to Paducah and Western Kentucky.

Beechland raised money to plant new churches across the globe through the Annie Armstrong Easter offering. We helped reach important ministries across the city of Louisville through our donation the Fred Tucker Metro Louisville Missions Offering. Missionaries throughout Kentucky received funds for leader training, mission events, disaster relief and other collegiate ministries from our donations to the Eliza Broadus Offering. Beechland provided support for missionaries across the globe including medicine, Bibles, and food for the needy through the Lottie Moon Christmas Offering.

Beechland supports the Prodigal House in Louisville, which is a prison release ministry for men. Thanks to donations from our members, Beechland is able to provide stuffed animals to children who are undergoing surgery in Jewish Hospital. Beechland also supports our community through the Bluegrass Baptist Hispanic Ministries, as well as hosting an English as Second Language (ESL) class every Sunday. Several members of our church have been baptized through our ESL program.
