Events for Everybody

January Family Fun Nights: Each Sunday evening in January, beginning Jan 9, the Recreation Team will host a Family Fun Night. These activities are family-friendly and are planned so family members of all ages can fellowship together with other church families. We encourage you to keep your eyes and ears open for information about these upcoming events and we hope to see you there!

The Beechland Cafe is now reopened on Sundays before the Worship Service 10:30-11am. All proceeds go to support missions!

Opportunities to Serve

Our 2021 Lottie Moon Christmas offering starts Sunday, December 5, and ends Jan 30. 100% of this offering funds international missionaries. Our goal is $2500. Thank you, Beechland, for all your support!

Ministry Teams for 2022 are being formed. Please let us know what area of service God has put on your heart using this form or call the church office.

Beechland’s Annual Christmas Card Project.

Each year we send Christmas Cards to our members who are homebound. If you are able to participate, please prepare a card for each member listed in the Homebound section of our Prayer Page and turn them in to the Church Office by Sunday, December 5. The cards will be delivered by our deacons. (Please do not seal the envelopes and keep them in alphabetical order.)

Angel Tree is a program of Prison Fellowship which reaches out to children of prisoners and their families with the love of Christ. Can you help make Christmas special this year with some presents for a child in this program? Angels will be available on the tree by the Welcome Desk from Nov 14 - Dec 1. Gifts are due back by Sunday, Dec 5. To find out about other ways to help with this program, please contact Loris Spencer at 935-5975.

The Children’s Ministry is exploding with growth. This opens a great opportunity for you to get to serve the future generation with your love and attention once a month! See Terry or Annette at the Children’s Ministry desk for more information.

Gospel to Every Home (GEH): This Fall, Beechland has accepted the challenge to hang a bag on the door of every home in zip code 40258 and 40216. In the bag will be a Gospel Track, a DVD of 3 films about Jesus (playable in 7 different languages), and an invitation to Beechland. Please plan a time when your small group or family would like to prayerfully walk around a neighborhood and hang the bags. We will provide you with a map and supplies!

As Steffany Greco, our Music Academy Director, undergoes aggressive cancer treatment, her family is also enduring financial hardships. If a Sunday School class, other group, or an individual wants to help, please contact Kathy Darby.

The Food Pantry needs crackers and boxed mashed potatoes.

The Martha Class has an opportunity for ladies to help lead their small group. If interested, please contact Nathan Goodpaster at

WE WANT TO PRAY FOR YOU! Beechland has prayer partners available to pray for you AFTER the Worship service. This in no way replaces the altar call, but allows those coming forward after the service to receive more prayer time. We hope you will take advantage of this wonderful ministry!

Ways to help Afghans relocating to Louisville.

You can pray:

PRAY. As new arrivals are relocated here to Louisville, pray that they will be received with kindness. Pray that they will be encouraged and not fearful. Pray that Christians will connect, build relationships, and display the love of Jesus to them. Pray that efforts by churches will both meet needs and provide gospel opportunities.

You can give:

DONATE. October is World Hunger Fund month and much of the money for food distributed will be paid for from the KBC World Hunger Fund. You can give to the general fund or designate to Afghan Relief, Attn: John/Missions Mobilization Team.

VOLUNTEER. If you would like to volunteer preparing baskets or food boxes with the WSBC team or if you would like to serve on a distribution day, Wednesdays 9a-12noon, please contact Bradley Willis, Community Ministries Minister, Opportunities might include guiding families through the pick up process, helping to load boxes in vehicles, possibly transportation and/or delivery.

VOLUNTEER. In partnership with Refuge International there are opportunities for small groups to serve as Co-journeying Teams that will be partnered with arriving families. You can find more information about this need at

Youth & Kids

The Moving Out Loud group is excited to announce that they are going to perform a Christmas song during the worship service on December 19th! Youth, grades 6-12, who are able to come that Sunday and the preceding practices, please contact Liz Lindsey! The plan for this song includes elements of signing, footwork, and interpretive movement. It is fast, but it will be fun!

We believe we can learn this song in 5 practices. These practice times are subject to change, however! Projected practice schedule:

Wed, 12/1, 5:30 - 6:15 pm

Sun, 12/5, 12:30 - 1:30 pm (lunch provided)

Wed, 12/8, 5:30 - 6:15 pm

Sun, 12/12, 12:30 - 1:30 pm (lunch provided)

Wed, 12/15, 5:30 - 6:15 pm

Please be at the church before 5:30 for the Wednesday night practices, if you can, so that we can get started right on time. 45 minutes is not a very long time!

Bring your family and friends for a fun morning of celebration at the Children’s Christmas Breakfast on Saturday, December 4th, 10-11a, in the Conference Center. We will have breakfast, a craft, and read the Christmas story together! All families with children through 5th grade are invited.

Happy Birthday, Jesus, Party! Children, come help us celebrate Jesus’ birthday during Sunday School, 9:30-10:30a, on December 12th. Please note the date change. Pick up a memo with info at the Children’s desk this Sunday.

Save the Date: Youth will be celebrating Christmas with a Christmas Dinner & Party on Dec 15 - let your friends know now so they can join you. Watch for more details!

Youth and Kids meet Wednesday nights from 6 - 7:30 pm — COME AND BRING FRIENDS!

We are postponing our Upward Basketball and Cheer program until next year. Thank you for your continued interest. We look forward to playing together again in 2023!

Senior Adults

Live Wires is our fellowship club for Seniors. They meet on the 1st and 3rd Tuesdays at 10:30 am in the Choir Room. Meetings include a potluck after the speaker.

A shout out to everyone who participated in Operation Christmas Child. Beechland blessed 62 children with a shoebox for Christmas!

HOUSE Keeping

On Wed Night, 12/8, we will have our Ministry Review Business Meeting and Team Night. This will be a time for Ministry Teams to meet together and begin initial planning for 2022. Also at the meeting, the church will vote to amend the by-laws to begin our new Deacon Ministry program. The new program details are available at the Welcome Desk.
